Live As You Are
Meet Elisha
I've tried many different jobs, entrepreneurial ventures, and approaches to personal and professional development over the years, investing deeply in understanding myself, how humans work, and what actually creates meaningful change. Through all of that experimentation, one thing has become increasingly clear: the work I'm most passionate about is working deeply with people 1:1 - while also making space for my own creativity.
My own life has been a significant part of that education. I've navigated complex personal challenges, loss and trauma, and have spent years learning how to come back to myself rather than simply become better at coping with a life that didn't fit.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I'm also rather fond of getting away from civilisation and living a more unconventional path.
I love driving my Defender, Maximus, listening to tunes, exploring, finding wilderness and no signal, sleeping wild in the back of him, and generally being very happy whether I'm walking, sitting somewhere taking in a view, or simply BEING in nature. Nature has become a tonic for my sensitive nervous system and a place of refuge over the years - somewhere I've learned to slow down, reconnect, and reclaim parts of myself I'd lost along the way.
I'm also a creative. I, paint, draw, and sew for myself, occasionally take on commission pieces, and write about my experiences, what I'm learning, and the things I'm curious about.
I’ve been featured in Brainz Magazine, Substack, and several podcasts.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I believe some of the most important things in life cannot be optimised.
They have to be experienced.
That's why Freedom of Self® is built around Transformation Through Experience.
I'm Elisha May, founder of Freedom of Self®.
I'm an intuitive coach, facilitator, and catalyst for deep personal transformation. My biological design is that of an HSP and Empath, and I work with people who are intelligent, highly capable, deeply feeling, and self-aware - people who have often spent years leading with their minds because that was what worked.
I'm interested in what happens when that intelligence doesn't have to work alone.
I live at the intersection of intuition and rationality, and I'm fascinated by human behaviour, identity, metaphysics and energetics, the body, the nervous system, personal evolution, and the uncomfortable space between who we've been and who we're becoming.
Freedom Of Self®
Freedom isn't simply having the freedom to do whatever you want.
It's having enough relationship with yourself to know what you actually want.
It's being able to distinguish your own truth from conditioning, expectation, obligation, and old survival strategies.
It's being able to make choices from somewhere deeper than fear, habit, or performance.
It's being able to hold both:
The person you've become.
And the person you're still becoming.
That's what Freedom of Self® is about.
Not becoming someone else.
Not fixing yourself.
Not endlessly working on yourself.
Becoming more fully available to all of yourself.
What Sets Me Apart
I See What’s Beneath the Surface
You can be highly successful, self-aware, and seemingly have your life together and still know something isn't right. I’m interested in what’s happening underneath the story, the identity, and the strategies that have kept you going. I read between the lines, trust what I sense, and ask the questions that get to what’s really going on.
I Don’t Just Help You Understand Yourself. I Move You.
Insight is useful, but transformation happens when something actually shifts. My work brings together intuition, energy, nervous-system awareness, deep questioning, and practical integration to help you release what no longer fits and reconnect with what’s true. You don't leave with another list of things to work on. You leave with something different happening within you.
You Don’t Become Someone Else
I’m not here to fix you, change you, or squeeze you into someone else's version of being. I’m here to help you strip away what isn't yours, reclaim what is, optimise what’s already in you, and learn to trust yourself enough to live from it. The result isn't a better-performing version of you. It’s more you. It’s the optimal you.
